SYNOPSIS
Unreal Central is a journey of navigating through realities and reflections in the Old Town Central area in Hong Kong. A condensed universe juxtaposing nature and concrete is presented in an endless tunnel to draw attention to indirect visual encounters among cosmopolitan surfaces that rush into one’s senses all at once.
ABOUT DIRECTOR
Melody Qingmei Li joined the MFACM program at CityU in 2021 to focus on her artistic practices, which originated from rising doubts towards realities projected through daily life, alternating with three facets: environment, body, and the connections. Various mediums are intertwined, including painting, moving images, installations, and writing.
Junien Cho is currently studying the MACM program at CityU, and is set to graduate in May 2022. He graduated from BBA in Marketing at HKU, but wasn’t interested in this major. He has then found his interests in the arts, including drawing, photo manipulation, graphic design, and video editing.
Valerie is a graduate student at SCM of CityU and a multidisciplinary artist who integrates into her aesthetic process, tenants of nature, time, human origins, and surrealism. Her works manifest across a range of mediums that include installations, film, poetry and photography.
