SYNOPSIS

⁣In the dazzling twinkle and glaring light shines Sham Shui Po, and we follow the footsteps of freedom to record the slightly tipsy look of it. Follow our pace and take you closer to the world of fantasy.


⁣Sham Shui Po is a representative neighborhood of Hong Kong. It embodies many of the features and features of the city. We are going to focus on the night scene at Sham Shui Po where is full of some unique visual elements such as street light, billboard, light from people’s windows and so on. The dazzling twinkle and glaring light shines Sham Shui Po, and we follow the footsteps of freedom to record the slightly tipsy look of it. Follow our pace and we will take people closer to the world of fantasy. For the visual elements part, we collect a lot of photos of the light in the neighborhood and we use the stop motion to make the animation. From abstract light to the specific ones, we want to show the fruitful of Sham Shui Po. Also, we engage the distinctive neon light in to the animation, present the feature of the neighborhood.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Born in Guangdong, China in 1999, DENG Yuanyuan is a video
artist, filmmaker and researcher. She is committed to exploring the
expressive potential of realistic images. Her work got recognized in
many festivals and museums. Respectful Chaos was shortlisted for
Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival(final selection) and exhibited in Shanghai Himalaya Art Museum. Face And Time was selected by Mother Film Exhibition(2022). She used to be the editor of The Ferry Chronicle and the assistant screenwriter of the TV series Thirty Years of Jianghu (unreleased). Her book Audiovisual Language will be published in June 2022.
