SYNOPSIS
Jayden and his two friends first meet Mike, an outlaw weed farmer, in a bar one night when travelling through Humboldt County. After winning a bet over a game of pool, the trio are invited to work with Mike and his mate, Bullet, on an illegal weed farm, buried deep in the redwood forest of ‘Murder Mountain’.
Armed with a black-market gun, Jayden is made responsible for overseeing the migrant workers of the farm whenever his bosses leave. The migrant Mexican workers call him ‘Jefe’ - meaning boss in Spanish.
ABOUT DIRECTOR
I am the Director, writer, and environment artist of the short animated film, ‘Jefe’. With the help of Nirvan Pougalt M. and Alysha Lowery, I managed the production schedule, and provided constructive criticism and feedback for the artistic and story direction of the film. I study a Bachelor of Animation at Swinburne University of Technology (2019-2022), with an interest in illustration, 2D and 3D animation and Design. I currently work as a freelance artist, designing live music gig posters, and completed the ‘ Vol. 02’ album cover for Melbourne band ‘Foggy Notion’ in 2021.
