The Secret of Mr. Nostoc
Mr. Nostoc lives in an hectic city. Not stressed or pressed by time, he goes to work, and always has a new surprise under his hat.
When night comes, he goes into his attic and stays there for hours. Working on his secret.
Maxime Marion is a french videographer who grew up with a love for stop motion. As a self-taught animator, he stared working with material at his disposal: objects, food, lego figures...
He makes his debut as stop motion director in 2008, with a short named The New Neighbor, he also produced the FreeZ! web series and shares his passion with young audiences through stop motion workshops.
With Patrice Seiler, we wanted to create the world of Mr Nostoc using solely waste and salvaged material. We wanted to put those old, overlooked objects into the spotlights, and tell a story with them.
Stop motion animation is not only about making objects move. It is about bringing them to life, giving them a soul. There's something fascinating about this process. This is alchemy.
